Eight Reasons Why Golf Is A Perfect Sport for Everyone

It can’t be denied that sport is one of the greatest companions of a healthy lifestyle. Playing sport will not only keep you in a perfect shape but also help you deal with stress or any kinds of negative emotions. Among hundreds of sport types, golf is a smart choice for anyone. Here is why.

1. Playing Golf Gives You A Sense of Freedom

Even if you are a non golf player, you must still be aware that golf is among a few sport games that include a playing field of very few boundaries. While soccer, football, baseball, volleyball or basketball all require a court of standard shape and size with clearly defined lines, golf is played on a space of at least 200 acres. Many other less popular sports also have the same rule: bowling alleys have gutters and walls are a must for ice rinks.
In case you are going to give a counter argument, of course golf fields have holes. But you are still free to run and play in such an immensely large and open space. What else can you ask for, freedom seekers?

2. Golf Equipment Is A Cool Stuff to Have

If you have already seen a golf player carrying his gear, you must have known what this paragraph is about. Yes, there is nothing cooler than owning a collection of tees, a ball marker, a glove, green repair tools, head covers, GPS equipment, interchangeable spikes and shaft flexes. Are you impressed only by calling their names? And regarding names, people even coin nicknames for these tools: belly putter, camber, mashie, flange, brassie, off-set, cavity back and big dog. Are you thinking of James Bond and his epic 007 series?

3. This Is A Serendipitous Game

On a Sunday of nice weather, are you happy to find sand in your shoes, mud on your shirt, sweat all over you body and blisters on your hands? If you are like most normal non golf players, no must be the answer. But if you become the king of the game by making birdie on the 18th hole, you can’t be any prouder to tell the whole world how you get all of these annoying stuffs.

4. Golf Can Be Played Alone

If you don’t feel like competing with someone, then go for golf. On an uncrowded course, you are free to take your time and walk around the green landscape, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and choose to play at any area and any pace you like. There will be no rush, no pressure, no audience screaming and cursing your name. Basically it’s you against golf.

5. You Can Join A Group And Meet Fascinating People

For someone who loves blind date, golf could offer a kind of the same experience. You arrive at your favorite golf club alone and prepare yourself for the game. When you show up at the course, you could see some people who are also playing your favorite sport game. And with a little experience, you can even tell their personality from the way they play golf. Now, you are interested in the girl in red, you don’t even have to think about what to say when approaching her.

6. Golf Helps Improve Your Relationship With Friends And Family

Gender and age do not mean anything when playing golf. Men, women, children, old people, mother, father, son arrive at the same golf course and play equitably. It is golf’s nature to bring people together. The whole group can take a walk together and have a little chit chat about how to play the game. There is no competition so there is no loser and no one is going to be embarrassed.

7. It Is Fun to Search for Lost Ball In the Woods

Golf balls can go missing all the time. Of course, you, with your adventurous character, would love to walk around the woods to look for the lost ball. If you are an Asian, it will bring back a little of your childhood when you didn’t miss a single inch of the playing yard to find your friends who were hiding from you as a part of the game.

8. Anyone Can Play Golf

In case the above seven reasons are not compelling and convincing enough, you should play golf simply because you can play golf. Basketball is not a game for short people. Soccer or Hockey are meant for people with good strength. But golf is for everyone. The probability to successfully put a ball in a hole is equal no matter you are fat or thin, short or tall, weak or strong.
